Welcome to our website!
Here you can get to know more about our project, ideas and members. We hope we can inspire you to fight for a Solarpunk future we deserve!
Mission
In Pangaia, we want to create food forests and organic vegetable patches using vegan permaculture methods. Our goal is to regenerate degraded ecosystems and change the way we interact with them.
By changing the way agriculture is practiced in the Amazon region, we will be able to give back land to indigenous communities and non-human animals who have been affected the most by agro-industrial practices and the capitalist way of life imposed 500 years ago.
We also place great importance on a cultural exchange between volunteers from around the world, local farming communities and indigenous communities.
Vision
Our vision is to create a dynamic example of an alternative life-style for our species, one which can be replicated anywhere in the world where life can be sustained through farming.
By avoiding the creation of centralized, stressful environments that waste our life support systems (water, clean air, food, etc.), humans can learn to create communities, free from discrimination and hierarchies, that reduce their impact on the environment drastically.
Our Values
Respect
for all living beings and ecosystems that nurture us and sustain life. For us this means living an anti-oppressive vegan life and cooperating with nature to grow our food through permacultural methods.
Resistance
against all systems of oppression and domination. Through continued education and practice of de-colonial feminist ideas and cooperation we unlearn oppressive behaviors and try to create healthier ways of co-existing with each other.
Solidarity
for all communities fighting against oppressive systems. Through cooperation with other social justice movements we want to fight for what Quechua people call “Sumaq kawsay” (good living/life).
Altruism
as an active practice in our lives. In an economic system that rewards selfish and greedy behavior, altruistic practices are a way to resist and encourage cooperation.
Critical Thinking
is one of the main skills needed in progressive and anti-oppressive societies. By educating ourselves and questioning the status quo we aim to establish mindsets of people that think for themselves and don’t just follow orders.
Personal Growth
and reflection on who we are and who we aim to be is a consistent part of our everyday lives. By acknowledging that we have been raised in patriarchal and capitalist systems, we are able to unlearn behavioral patterns and (self-)destructive ways of thinking.
